John Bennetts
John loves to spend his spare time caving and climbing, and particularly enjoys adventures in colder parts of the world. He’s eternally grateful to the school teachers and friends that fostered his early interests in the outdoors and is passionate that everyone should have the same opportunities for adventure that he did. John has been volunteering with the Youth Adventure Trust since 2013 and enjoys helping young people to learn about themselves through the challenging activities on the Trust’s programme.

Fernando Hidalgo

Fernando Hidalgo
Fernando is a rock climbing instructor and IT manager. When he was a child he participated in similar camps in his home country, Argentina. These had a massive impact on his development and helped him survive as a teenager. Now he thinks that it is time to give back the opportunity to young people who need it most. Fernando participates in activity days and camps, sharing his passion for adventure and encouraging young people to take on challenges of their own, as well as having great fun along the way.

ruth

Ruth Latham
Ruth feels that she was very fortunate as a child to have the opportunities to get outside and have adventures.  She also knows how much fresh air and exercise impacts on her wellbeing and mental health. She got involved with the Trust to help offer this opportunity to others who may otherwise not experience the fun of the outdoors and adventure. She participates in activity days and camps and loves to see how the young people develop in confidence along the way as well as having a lot of fun!
