An audience with Mel Nicholls and Scotty Johnson
Tuesday 10th March at 7pm, The Watershed, Bristol
The Going Beyond series of talks returns with two motivational speakers who define resilience and mental toughness, qualities close to the heart of the Youth Adventure Trust’s work with vulnerable young people.
Mel Nicholls is a Paralympian who recently smashed all previous Land’s End to John O’Groats handcycling world records. Her mottoes of Dream Big and Live an Adventure are no truer than her real life adventure tales as she continues to push her own boundaries and challenge perceptions of what is possible. Mel brings to an audience her experiences and accounts from her sport, training and her own life-story, her strength in the face of adversity and her own definition of resilience. Mel hopes to inspire others to reach for the top of their own mountains and believe that anything is possible.
For over 20 years, Scotty Johnson has provided opportunities for people to make a positive difference to their own lives, the organisations they are part of and the societies they live in. Mirroring the ethos of the Youth Adventure Trust, he uses reflective nature-based settings and experiential learning. He has designed and run corporate well-being programs in the rain forests, leadership retreats in expedition environments and personal coaching on yachts. Known for his thought provoking questions, stunning imagery and entertaining stories, Scotty will engage an audience to make them think differently and inspire them to take action that makes a real difference to their own lives.
Tickets £15 from www.eventbrite.co.uk – all proceeds go directly to support the Youth Adventure Trust’s work with vulnerable young people.
