Wow, we asked for your help and you really delivered. THANKYOU so much to everybody who stepped up to the 2.6 challenge on 26th April! 415 of our friends and your friends either fundraised for or made a donation to the Youth Adventure Trust, raising a staggering £13,412. We can’t thank you enough!
It was fantastic to see so many people getting involved and we were amazed by the creativity you all showed.
We had people ‘stepping up’ by walking 26,000 steps, climbing 2,600 ft on their stairs and doing 2,600 step ups in their garden. There was a 2.6 hour sponsored silence, 26 guitar intros to guess, a 26 obstacles course and a 2.6 hour ‘swingball by starlight’ challenge. People were bouncing into action on trampolines and our mentoring team ‘cooked up a storm’ with a virtual cook off from page 26 of their favourite recipe book. There was cycling, swimming, running, walking and, in true YAT spirit, tree climbing!
Check out some of the action in the short video montage below.
AND…it gets even better! All of the money that has been raised for us through the 2.6 challenge will be topped up by the central 2.6 challenge pot – the more we raise the more we get, and the more young people we can help.
In fact, the amount that has been raised to date will cover the cost of providing online, one to one mentoring for 40 young people for 10 weeks!
You can find out more about our online mentoring and the other ways we are supporting young people through these challenging times here.
THANK YOU once again, for all of your support. It is making a huge difference to the young people we are working with.
